It feels like a chore or burden?
It is more effective and satisfying to try one or two of these techniques in a semester—and fully and thoughtfully work through the process—than to try out several CATs, only to become overwhelmed and discouraged. Start simple, with quick and easy Classroom Assessment Techniques, and stay simple for awhile, building your skill and confidence.
It feels like there does not seem to be enough time?
Administering a CAT and analyzing the feedback, particularly the first few times, can take twice as much time to complete as you may estimate. This is yet another reason to begin with one of the most simple CAT.
I have not had time to test it?
Try the CAT on yourself first or possibly a college who had taught your course. This is a good way to identify if the techniques are appropriate, where problems may occur, whether modifications are necessary, and how long it takes to complete. In assessment, as in teaching, thoughtful preparation and rehearsal are major parts of successful performance
