Classroom Assessment Techniques (CATs)
Classroom Assessment Techniques (CATs) is a form of student assessment that focuses on course improvement or the improvement of teaching and learning in the classroom. CAT’s primary goal is to better understand your students' learning and improve your teaching. Classroom Assessment Techniques (CATs) was first introduced Dr. Pat Cross and Dr. Tom Angelo 31 years ago and remains one of the most valued in-class student feedback on learning in the classroom.
Using CATS is a way to obtain meaningful feedback and help instructors get quick feedback on whether or not students were learning key ideas. Classroom Assessment Techniques: A Handbook for College Teachers. 2nd ed. San Francisco: Jossey-Bass.
